Up until now, guitar, bass, and piano players have not had an ensemble of their own. Most of the guitar, bass, and piano players have had to either do choir or play another instrument for the Concert Band so that they could play in the school’s jazz band. Mr. Winn, having seen the numerous skilled players without an ensemble, decided to create the Jazz Rhythm Ensemble.
The Rhythm Ensemble’s goal is to create a base of musical skills in the guitar, bass, and piano players. The ensemble works on the Jazz Band’s repertoire, as well as separate songs, and student written songs. The ensemble meets Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. During the block period the ensemble practices with the Jazz band. This year there are twelve students in thee class and they are looking forward to playing with the Jazz band.
