St. Christopher’s is home to one of the United States’ youngest licensed pilots, Swayne Martin ‘15. At the age of 15 he began flight training, and was legally able to fly solo before he could drive a car solo.
Over Christmas break, he flew (via Delta) down to Gulf Shores, Ala. He met up with his friends Haley Howard and Rod Kellogg, both pilots that tow banners for a local restaurant. “There's nothing better than hopping in a plane with close friends and just enjoying the skies.” Swayne wrote, “This is why I love being a pilot and flying the Carbon Cub SS. Thanks, Haley and Rod, for making this all possible!” Above is a highlight video of his trip that he made. You can also see more on his pilot career at www.swaynemartin.com. Last May, freshman Jack Anderson won the Dominion Riverrock video contest for the second year in a row. The contest involves making a one-minute video that sums up all of the events at the festival. Equipment used included a Nikon, a GoPro and even an iPod. To film, he went around the festival and filmed videos of the crazy events that took place. The video below is a great recap of the Dominion Riverrock festival and all the exciting things that went on. Check it out! |
